Xenosaga I: Felt like a sequel to Impossible Mission.
I originally skipped the entire Xenosaga trilogy. Remember seeing some coverage on TheGIA.com (may she RIP) about it and various mags but it never looked to be a game for me. I decided to give it, and the other two (maybe) a chance.
I have to do some research to see if there are any QoL improvements in the sequels. If not, this series is getting straight up skipped again.
What I Liked
Very good (but not memorable) music.
For a very old game some of the scenes have very good graphics.
Of what I could gather from the story, a lot of thought and care was put into it.
What I Didn't Like
The dungeon layouts are BS.
That last comment is made worse by the lack of a map and BRIEF mentions about where to go next that get skipped and cannot be recalled.
The FMVs are poor quality compared to the game itself.
Some FMVs are so long, the controller kept going to sleep. (And I LOVE cutscenes in a game - but come on, break them up a bit.)
Not a game I would revisit. Ever. Certainly not the most boring, but it's shocking this is as popular as it is.
